Oh no, has it got you? Blogger’s block is the scourge of the 21st century! Next you’ll be wondering why you ever started the whole thing and thinking about deleting it! Or maybe that’s just me. But Mac, you’ve got to let them hear the best version of the song - Dean’s version.
During class, play the original. And then play his other songs. (Well, some of his other songs - you don’t want to get fired.) And then include Dean Friedman bonus questions onto your tests. “For an extra 5 points, name the Little League mentioned in Dean Friedman’s song McDonald’s Girl.” Then before you know it, your students will be downloading Dean Friedman’s music onto their iPods. Dean will get a following there. Next thing you know, Dean will be booking a flight to perform in Washington state and you, Mac, will finally be able to see Dean in concert! Mac, you have the power. As Nike says, “Just do it”.

It is becoming an epidemic. The students at my school love the song (especially the girls who work at McDonalds and the like) ever since it was played at that assembly. It IS a catchy little tune. I have always liked it from the first time I heard it. I think with a bit more exposure, it may become an internet hit, if it isn’t already one.
